Our multidisciplinary team treats SUD alongside co-occurring mental health conditions and chronic pain concerns, creating a more complete path toward healing and long-term recovery.

Patients begin treatment in a medically managed detox program with around-the-clock nursing care, physician oversight, and individualized withdrawal management designed to promote safety, comfort, and stabilization.

With just 16 beds and a high staff-to-patient ratio, we provide personalized attention, customized treatment planning, and the clinical support needed to address each patient’s unique recovery journey.

Our team utilizes proven therapeutic approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, family therapy, and group therapy to help patients address the underlying factors contributing to substance use and mental health challenges.

In addition to traditional clinical care, patient treatment plans include holistic services such as movement therapy, art and expressive therapies, yoga, nutrition support, and wellness-focused programming to aid in addiction recovery.

Recovery does not end after discharge. Through alumni programming, family support services, aftercare planning, group therapy opportunities, and ongoing clinical connections, we help patients build a foundation for lasting success.

Core Elements of Our Methamphetamine Recovery Program

Our program combines individualized treatment, evidence-based therapies, and holistic approaches to address the physical, emotional, and psychological effects of addiction. Through coordinated care, dual diagnosis support, and innovative treatment modalities, we help each individual build the skills and foundation needed to pursue lasting recovery and renewed wellness.

Evidence-Based and Holistic Therapies

Our unique approach to meth addiction treatment integrates evidence-based treatments with holistic therapies, providing a well-rounded path to healing. Therapies may include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), yoga, or movement therapy.

Dual Diagnosis Care

Our board-certified clinicians treat chronic pain, addiction, and co-occurring mental health conditions as secondary diagnoses. Patients receive coordinated, comprehensive treatment that supports lasting recovery and overall well-being.

Family Support for Loved Ones

Healing is not an individual journey. Our comprehensive family support program recognizes that when one family member struggles with meth addiction, the entire family system is affected. We believe sustainable recovery happens when families are actively involved in the healing process, creating a foundation of understanding, compassion, and healthy communication.

Relapse Prevention Planning

Our relapse prevention program provides continued addiction education, aftercare services, and sober living skills to help patients safely transition into an independent lifestyle.

How We Treat Meth Use

Our full continuum of care provides comprehensive methamphetamine treatment at every stage of recovery, from medically supported detox and residential treatment to ongoing outpatient programs, aftercare, and relapse-prevention support tailored to each individual’s needs.

Medical Detox

Our Houston medical detox offers comprehensive, evidence-based support that prioritizes your safety, comfort, and dignity. The team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and mental health specialists monitors your progress 24/7 and adjusts treatment plans as needed to ensure patients remain comfortable and stable during withdrawal.

Inpatient Residential Treatment

Our 30- to 60-day inpatient residential treatment program provides a structured, supportive environment where patients can focus fully on recovery while receiving comprehensive clinical care and personalized support. We use an evidence-based approach that combines therapy, medical care, and holistic treatments to address individual challenges and promote lasting recovery from the effects of methamphetamine abuse.

IOP and PHP

Once detox and inpatient treatment are complete, patients have the opportunity to step down to our partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient program (IOP), or outpatient treatment options. Outpatient programs allow individuals to attend several group sessions per week, return home at night, and practice recovery skills in real-world settings.

Due to size limitations, all outpatient programs at Black Horse Health are currently only available to our residential graduates.

Aftercare Program

Aftercare services help patients maintain the progress they made in treatment through continued support, accountability, and personalized recovery planning. With ongoing guidance focused on relapse prevention, life skills, and long-term wellness, patients can transition confidently into everyday life while strengthening the foundation for lasting recovery.

What We Treat Alongside Meth Abuse

Our meth addiction treatment in Houston offers a structured, immersive environment where individuals can focus entirely on their recovery while receiving clinical support, intensive therapy, and holistic interventions for a range of behavioral and physical health concerns.

Alcohol and Drug Addiction

We treat drug and alcohol addiction alongside methamphetamine abuse, providing comprehensive care for individuals facing multiple substance use challenges. Our integrated approach addresses the complexities of addiction while helping patients build the skills, stability, and confidence needed for lasting recovery.

Co-Occurring Mental Health Disorders

Our team provides integrated care for co-occurring mental health disorders, such as depression and anxiety, that may contribute to or occur alongside methamphetamine use. By addressing both substance use and mental health needs together, our team helps patients develop healthier coping strategies.

Process Addictions

Our facility also addresses process addictions, including compulsive behaviors like sex and gambling that can negatively affect emotional well-being, relationships, and daily life. Through individualized therapy and behavioral health support, patients can identify underlying patterns and build greater control over these behaviors.

Trauma and Chronic Pain

Our team provides compassionate, integrated care for patients whose methamphetamine use may be connected to trauma or chronic pain. Through trauma-informed therapeutic approaches and our comprehensive pain recovery program, patients can work toward sustainable recovery.

Houston Meth Rehab Program Treatment Options

Black Horse Health offers a range of services to help patients manage and overcome meth addiction. A combination of treatment approaches in an individualized treatment plan helps patients address the underlying causes of meth addiction for true wellness.

CBT & DBT

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) can help patients recognize unhealthy thought patterns, manage difficult emotions, and develop healthier responses to triggers. These evidence-based approaches provide practical coping skills that support emotional regulation, reduce the risk of relapse, and strengthen long-term recovery.

Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) can help individuals in meth addiction treatment build psychological flexibility, manage difficult thoughts and emotions, and make choices aligned with their recovery goals. Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can help patients process traumatic experiences that may contribute to substance use, reducing the emotional impact of trauma.

Both group and family therapy give patients opportunities to strengthen relationships, build communication skills, and connect with others who understand the challenges of addiction and recovery. These supportive settings can foster accountability, reduce isolation, and help patients develop healthier relationships and coping strategies throughout treatment.

Patients may explore peer support groups, such as SMART Recovery and 12-Step recovery options, as part of their treatment plan. However, participation in either approach is optional, not mandatory.

Aftercare services provide ongoing support through follow-up sessions, group therapy, and continued access to counselors as patients transition back into daily life. Alumni can also stay connected through support meetings, online groups, and events that foster community, accountability, and long-term recovery.

When Meth Use Needs Professional Help

It can be challenging to recognize the warning signs of methamphetamine abuse. If your academic performance, work performance, interpersonal relationships, or health are affecting daily life, this can signal the need for professional support.

Cravings and Withdrawal Symptoms

Methamphetamine withdrawal can bring intense cravings along with fatigue, changes in sleep and appetite, irritability, anxiety, depressed mood, and difficulty concentrating. These symptoms can make early recovery challenging, particularly when cravings or emotional distress increase the risk of returning to meth use.

Meth Detox Programs and Treatment for Lasting Recovery

Our treatment team understands the impact meth can have on your mental and physical health and future. Our medical detoxification program is designed to stabilize your body, ease withdrawal symptoms, and prepare you for lasting healing in a serene, discreet environment supported by compassionate professionals.

Expert Clinicians Caring for Your Well-Being

Black Horse Health is supported by an experienced clinical team dedicated to providing compassionate, individualized care throughout the recovery process. Our Master’s-level clinical director helps guide high-quality, patient-centered treatment. At Black Horse Health, we also treat other types of stimulant abuse, such as cocaine and nicotine addiction. Like meth, cocaine is a highly addictive stimulant. Whether it’s snorted, smoked, or injected, it can cause dependence quickly, and this commonly happens the first few times after someone uses it.

Yes, we offer support groups for meth addiction recovery. Through our services such as family therapy, group therapy and support, and 12-Step recovery meetings, we can help improve your communication skills, process emotions, and build deeper connections for a strong recovery foundation. As an alum, you can also meet with our recovery team every Wednesday night on Zoom with a focus on education or attend our support meetings on-site for crystal meth relapse prevention.

Crystal meth use can affect nearly every part of the body, contributing to cardiovascular problems such as high blood pressure, elevated heart rate, irregular heartbeat, heart attack, and stroke, as well as dental damage (“meth mouth”), skin problems, weight loss, and weakened immune function. As a central nervous system stimulant, long-term use can also affect brain function, such as dopamine production, and mental health, increasing the risk of anxiety, depression, mood swings, paranoia, hallucinations, psychosis, and other serious psychological symptoms. Comprehensive addiction treatment can help individuals address the physical and emotional effects of meth use while building healthier strategies for long-term recovery.
